Moving Files from HDD to SSD

I am going to move the Docs that are on my E: partition on a HDD and put them on my SSD. I am going to take the HDD out of my PC. If I call the SSD partition E: also, will my Library still connect or do I have to make a new path? Thanks,

Hello Bigmck I am no expert as you know but copying the docs over would be fairly simple I would have thought.

Now I have tried setting labels using the Partition Wizard and well it might be just the way I am doing it but it does not let me label the second drive with drive letter already in use by another drive.

I guess you could try putting those docs onto a stick remove the HDD then label the SSD partition E: and paste in the docs into that E: partition from the stick?

I am probably being too over simplistic and someone will come up with a system that will make mine look Neanderthal but that is what I would be trying. :huh:

I believe you'll have to point your library to the new location on the SSD. Can you explain your Library, is that just a folder named Library?

I have six different categories in my Library. One of them is "Documents" which is currently pointing to the E: drive of my HDD. I am going to move them to a partition on my SSD which I will also call E: if it will mean that my Library path to the Documents would still work after moving them. Something tells me it won't work unless I redraw the path, but I am just curious if it will.
