Solved Mozilla Firefox, error "The connection was reset"

The SSL test page did not work.
Partly because after I clicked start test, the address changed to https://...... Then it came up with the error.

Pale Moon looks quite interesting. If worst comes to worst than it would be alright I guess .
I still would like to try to get FF working though.

BTW new OS profile, no luck.

Try re-registering these dll files. It will cause no problems if it does not fix your issue.

Start> In search box type cmd> Right click on cmd.exe in results above and choose Run as administrator> When the command prompt opens type each of the following commands followed by OK, you should get a confirmation of success message after each

regsvr32 softpub.dll

regsvr32 wintrust.dll

regsvr32 initpki.dll

regsvr32 dssenh.dll

regsvr32 rsaenh.dll

regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll

regsvr32 sccbase.dll

regsvr32 slbcsp.dll

regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll

All had a success message after them except for these 4:

• regsvr32 initpki.dll
• regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
• regsvr32 sccbase.dll
• regsvr32 slbcsp.dll

These all had the message The module "(.......)" failed to load.

OK, these were dll's suggested to be re-registered when ssl does not work. May not be present on all systems. I take it no luck fixing the issue? Try this proxied address, see if you get the sign in page. Not suggesting you actually sign in through it, just see if the sign in page loads.

I have downloaded the alternative browser 'Pale Moon' and it is working fine .
Thanks for all your guys suggestions.
If there is anymore suggestions from anyone else, it would be greatly appreciated .

1.) Uninstall firefox completely again.
2.) Try flushing your dns.
3.) Go to internet explorer options in control panel. Click advanced-reset. Click reset again. This will change any connection settings that firefox uses back to the default.
4.) Reinstall firefox
5.) Try firefox safe mode. Help-restart with addons disabled.

What security software do you use?

Yes I uninstalled Firefox first, I checked the box that said to remove your personal data and customizations. I didn't import any settings from IE.

IE works fine with Google and Facebook. I am using it to post and reply at the moment.

But one thing that was interesting, when I went to www.sevenforums.com on FF it worked perfectly.
FF seems to work on most websites, but shows the error on others. It also shows the error when I try to go on the Mozilla Community Forum.

Does internet explorer load the sites that error on firefox just fine?
If so something is really strange going on with firefox.
Could be something with your router settings if problems happen in all browsers.
Did anything change at all that you can think of? Did this just start randomly happening?

Go to tools, then go to options. Then go to "advanced" on the left hand side. Go to the "network" tab. Go to settings (on the right hand side). Check the box that says NO PROXY. Hit OK.
