Can someone please give me a good easy to understand answer please, what is happening with this update, I am getting them ever day sometimes twice, and it is been going on for months now.
I uninstalled MSE yesterday and reinstalled it but things are still the same.
We must all be in the same boat perhaps, what are others doing and is there a cure, have we just got to keep downloading this update what seems like for evermore.
Can you please what the problem is and if there is any around it.
With many thanks.
Peter.

There is no problem. MSE auto updates its definitions 1-2 times per day. Every definition has the same KB number by design.

Not to Worry

I was concerned also. After looking into it each update for KB23101138 is logged with a different version. Such as (Definition 1.271.897.0). This is the latest one for me and they progress backward.

I think MS has more time on their hands as they approach abandoning Win 7. That would explain issuing multiple updates

peterjay, I don't think much of MSE, and neither does AV Comparatives, or similar sites. If you're not Tech savvy I'd install BitDefender free and forego MSE.
Personally, I run Avast Free, Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit & Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware, all stand-alone and FF add-ons Disconnect, HTTPS Everywhere, uBlock Origin, Cookie Auto-Delete, & Disable HTML5 Auto-play.
If you purchase Malwarebytes premium anti-exploit and anti-ransomware are included (MB premium will delete them for you).
