Hello everyone,

Last night my buddies and I were playing some Hurtworld and then suddenly my screen went black. When it came back up I got a notification saying "Nvidia Kernel Mode Driver has stopped responding and has recovered." The screen flashes got more and more frequent until the computer completely froze. I restarted and when it came back up it did the same and has been doing the same since last night. Now when I boot TDR will cause my screen to flicker rapidly and will then BSOD.

I've been troubleshooting for quite a few hours and found that no screen flickers occur if I don't have a Nvidia driver installed. They also don't occur in safe mode; which is how I am typing this post. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, using previous versions of the drivers, dusting and reseating most of my hardware, monitoring the heat of my components, and trying to lighten the load on my PSU by unplugging all hard drives except my OS's SSD. I used third party software to thoroughly uninstall my graphics drivers before reinstalling them.

I would really appreciate some help here guys.

Thanks,
Daniel

Well, after switching out my current GPU for an older GPU it seems that the problem has been solved. Sadly it looks like my 1060 is pretty well dead. The problem was staring me right in the face the whole time, but I was just hoping that it wouldn't be my >1 year old card.
