I have to admit that I don't think I've ever seen that Fixit work properly - and it gives no useful data, ever.

slightly off-the-wall - but try this, then run through the CheckSUR and SFC again, and post the new logs.

Please run the following commands in an Elevated Command Prompt

NET STOP CRYPTSVC
REN C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CATROOT2 CATROOT2OLD
NET START CRYPTSVC

once complete, leave the system alone for at least an hour to rebuild the database, then reboot,
Note that this may delete your Update History - but all updates will remain installed, and can be viewed in the Installed Updates listing.

That's OK - that result is the one we currently expect from any system with IE10 installed.

It's been three weeks since your last post - so I'm a little lost as to what your current situation is, and what else has happened in the meantime.

Please update us, and post a new CBS.log file.

...which I don't remember seeing before?

Perhaps another CheckSUR run is called for - it may be able to point us in the right direction as to what the problem is.
Please also post a copy of the C:\Windows\windowsupdate.log file - it may help.

Yes, right, Windows Mail is running so I guess that's why it couldn't replace it.

Executed CheckSUR, here is the CBS.log:

CheckSUR is normal for a system with IE10 installed - the 'errors' aren't 'fixable'. MS is said to be working on a solution to the flags.

I can't find any entries in the Windowsudate log that correspond to the ones I posted above - maybe they are from something else.

The entries in the log that I think are relevant are these....

Nope - that's the CheckSUR history.
Lets grab the whole folder....

Copy the C:\Windows\Logs\CBS folder to your desktop
Compress it
attach the compressed file to your response - you can delete both it, and the desktop copy afterwards.
