My 10" touchscreen wount work with 7

Yes. Theres a shortcut to the Nvidia control panel. I guess I could try to change the resolution here, but why would that differ from changing the resolution in the windows settings?

because you are using the card not the on-board graphics you have the monitors connected to the card? then the card software will be used.

Oh. Well, it didn't make any difference. I changed the resolution to 800x600 in the Nvidia control panel, but the screen still doesn't work.

The drivers for the touch function has been installed and works fine, it's just the black screen which is the problem.

Well, I have kind of proven that it is compatible by going into safe-mode. The problem is clearly that the VGA output of the screencard is sending out information which the touchscreen can't handle. It is not the resolution and I believe not the refresh rate.

I guess for a future project I would like two monitors (the touch would be used as somekind of remote to my home theatre system), but I simply just want the screen to work for now so I know what settings to change when I finally get my HTPC. To test the touchscreen I simply take the cable out of my 20" screen and put it into the touchscreen so the computer never has to handle with two screens at once.

the graphics card does not operate in safe mode safe mode only loads the basic drivers for the system yes i understand its frustrating but maybe the card will not drive it? have you vga on the motherboard as standard? if so have you tried that?

just trying to establish whether the card is at fault or it cant drive the screen if it works in proper resolution with the motherboard one then that's a clue

It worked just fine I have to say that a 10.4" touchscreen makes a hell of a remote with windows media center

I still would like to figure out what my screencard is doing to make the screen not working though.
