I Have a internal CDRW CED-8080B it appears as CD ROM Drive in the my Computer Section. Why is it not appearing as CDRW Drive?

It does Function Opens CD etc but when i try to burn i get an error.
i did use a Windows 7 Trouble shooter and i said i could not burn with the drive i was then told that the Drive did not have Burning Capabilities.
I Have Burn a CD In Win XP before i upgraded to Windows 7 i dont know why Windows 7 is not detecting it and only classes it as CDROM.

Driver Name: CDROM.SYS

By any chance is your computer a dell? If so you might have upgraded the firmware to 1.07, which causes the drive to not write CDs.

Yes it is a Dell and i have just downloaded the 1.07 firmware only problem now is that it wants to make a bootable Floopy disk so it can install the firmware! I Dont have a Floppy Drive. Any suggestion how i can run this within Windows 7?

You don't have any System Specs listed, so I will assume you have a modern motherboard capable of booting to USB.

Put the firmware file on a USB stick and then set the BIOS to boot USB before hard drive.

Works just like a floppy.

+1 This should work aslong as you can boot from USB.
