Hi! I recently started using a Password to logon to my computers. It is of great help in preventing trouble I used to have with viruses causing problems in my computers at home. But I have one Chromebook we bought for our 2 young grandchildren, and it is at their house, about 10 miles away from us. We visit them just about every day, and so use the computer there each time. But over there, I often have trouble with logging on with the password I use at home. And so often have to get myself verified through the phone in order to be able to log in there. But in order to do so, I have to create a new password, as I see no other method of verifying it. We get online through Google Chrome. I teach the kids school lessons through the ABCmounse.com program, which we paid for some time back. So I logon in the same way as at home. But as I said, there is a problem with difficulty logging on there. Do you think the problem is caused by their not being in the same house as we live in? I mean, we of course use different internets. And are 10 miles apart. Or could it just be caused by the clumsiness of the keyboard keys on that kind of laptop computer - need to press hard and it sometimes misses letters? If there is no way to fix this problem, then I will just plan to put up with having to change the password very often. That is better than nothing. But I just wondered if there is any way that this problem could be improved.

Hi! I found out, a few hours after I sent my last message to you, that I sometimes have that problem here in our home too - since my other laptop, when I tried to logon to it, failed to recognize the new password I had just created. So again, I am forced, already, to have to create a new password. Do you know any way to avoid this difficulty? Thanks!

Hi! It is my Google Chrome logon password. That is what I've been having trouble with. Often, when I try to logon, it fails to recognize the password, and so I am forced to create a new Password each time. Presently, I'm only able to use this computer. On my other laptop computer here at our house, I can't even logon to use the computer at all. Now that I think of it, I created a username windows password, on the computer that I couldn't even logon, now. But now that you made me think of it, I typed that name on it, and I was able to get on the computer to use it! So that's good. So I suppose I should do that for all of the computers I use, for safety's sake? I didn't do that yet on this computer. But it's odd that I can't see the new Google chrome password in my list of passwords, under "Settings" under the 3 dots at the top right of my page. Shouldn't that show?

And how do I go about creating a username password on the Chromebook we have left at our grandkid's house for them to use? The problem I've noticed over there is the difficulty of logging on with the Google Chrome password, which it often fails to recognnize. I'm now suspecting that I need to lock each computer separately for full protection. Since the logon problems may be due to malware. But I use the same Google name, and password for all of the computers, including theirs that is at their house in town. Especially since I paid for ABCmouse educational program for them to use through my own Google Chrome account.

I just now managed to get online on that other computer that I bring to kids each time (so that they each have a computer to use while I'm with them) - but through a different Google Chrome password than I may have used for this laptop I'm using. By now, I forgot what one worked on here. In any case, I couldn't see it in my Google chrome passwords list in Google chrome settings. .
