Solved My Computer Window Opens everytime I boot up the computer.

For some strange reason the My Computer window opens on my desktop everytime I boot up windows 7 professional, any idea what I can do to stop this or why it's even happening?

Some start up entry probably got messed up.

Do you have CCleaner installed?
If so, it has a simple list of start up items under
Tools > Startup > Windows

Or you can use the powerful Autoruns tool.
Just be very careful what you do in that tool.


If you like, you can post a screenshot (using this info) of your start up items
(as shown by CCleaner or Autoruns or MSCONFIG)
...and we might be able to help you find the offending start up item.

Ok I got it to reboot with no My Computer window starting up by using cc cleaner and disabling some startup stuff, now to go back in and enable a few at a time till I can pinpoint what is actually triggering it, slow but sure I will find out thanks for the advice

A few more trial and error reboots and I found it, setpointupgrade.lnk was causing that My Computer window to open everytime I rebooted. disabled that in cc cleaner tools/startup/windows thru a few more reboots found that was what was causing the hiccup. I think it has something to do with my logitech software (mouse and keyboard both logitech).
