my restore points keeps getting deleted

Are you running a cleaner?

Backup your system to an external hard drive, you will be safe no matter what happens to restore points. I have mine disabled. Past experience, M$ restore points seldom work when you need it

i already have backup of my computer, but sometimes its a bit more easy to use system restore points
yes, im using ccleaner sometimes, why?

I had that problem a few years ago with CCleaner. Now, the restore point options is moved to a separate tab.

Are you saying all restore points or older ones?

for about a year as far as i remember.
i dont really use anything besides ccleaner to clean my computer with.
sometimes i use windows own cleaning tool though.

The System Restore Points setting, the setting which deals with how much bytespace to allocate to SRPs, might need adjusting.

it was a bit low so i set it to about 8%, is that enough?
also i checked ccleaner, theres an option to manually delete system restore points, but thats not the reason for this problem.

well, i just checked, and there are only two system restore points, even though i had set it to 10% (about 20gb). i noticed though, that there are sometimes are lot more system restore points than usual.

I think many if not most backup/restore programs, during full image OS partition backup operation, delete system restore points. Others in here can correct me if I am in error.

You are correct. I don't know if they are skipped over during the image creation or deleted upon restoring an image, but they are gone after the restoration. I can't remember if it is all or most of them though.

i havent used aomei backupper for sometime, so it's probably not that causing them to be deleted.

Consider making full image OS partitions and Data partition backup onto external media bi-monthly at least if not weekly. Along with a few System Restore Points tucked away, you will be in very good position to restore Windows 7 operations.

I have about 17 system restore points right now, thats a bit too much.
so im going to lower it a little bit.
