Barring any diagnostic tests, I would suspect the motherboard has been damaged.

I would suggest you try to consult with the nearest authorized local technician. Have them inspecting it and they might have the required tools in doing so. Then they will decide if the damage (if any) is fixable or not.

If its just the sound portion of the motherboard that has been damaged (assuming that is the problem), you could install a sound card and use that instead of the built in sound. That would be less expensive than replacing the motherboard.
