I noticed that im missing 10 gigs of free space from my 120gig SSD drive.... All the files on it add up to 23.6 gigs and my system restore files add up to 200mb. My pagefile is on another drive so that rules that out.

The last thing i did was change my bios sleep state from S1 to S3... I have no idea how doing that could lose me 10 gigs of space. Does anyone have an idea what happened?

EDIT: and im not talking about the 9 gigs lost from from formatting just so that is clear. I know that my drive lost 9 gigs just from format and my capacity is 111gig. Ive mysteriously lost another 10 gig from something else....

Have you checked to see if Hibernate is enabled? That uses a significant amount based on the size of your RAM.
Also, what is the size of your page file? These are hidden protected operating system files.

my hibernation feature is "on" but it is set to never in the power config options and I never use it. Should I disable it in the powercfg? My pagefile isnt on this drive but it is 24503 mb large

Edit: Yes you are right, it was hibernate being active. I went into CMD and did powercfg /hibernate off and immediatly the 10 gigs was added back to my HD, now im at 89gig out of 111, thx
