i hope i dont sound to confusing but im go step by step..

So the sandy, the hurricane came and cut the power while the computer was on. power came back on after 3 days. i cut the computer on and it said that startup has failed. so the computer tired to do the auto fix. But then it failed and shut down. I cut the computer back on and i had a horrible long beep maybe a full second. then it sent to system restore because of a windows problem. i tried the restore but then that failed because a steam file. when that was finish its sent to log into computer. at this point i am confused because im on the computer when it say that start up has failed. i didn't know what esle to do so i just shut down the computer and cut it back on and the long beep was gone. it started up as normal. However under system it say that i have 8 days to activate windows. i don't know how to fix this problem. it should say windows is activated.

Sorry to hear your computer took a beating during Sandy. But I'm glad you came out of it OK. :)

It's possible that the power problems may have damaged or corrupted system files. I'd run a system file checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two.) If problems are found, run the scan 3 times and reboot the computer after each scan.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

If you still get the notice that you need to activate, I'd try using the telephone activation method. Microsoft will need your 25-digit Product Key so have it handy. Explain to them about the power surge during Sandy and the new activation prompt. They should be able to help.

This shows that you have not activated your licence. On an OEM installation such as yours, this can only be done using the 25 character key found on the COA sticker attached to your computer.

I'd hold off, and try rebuilding the licensing store first, and only then replace the Key if necessary....

Please first try recreating Licensing Store.

Recreate the Licensing Store
Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-Click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator - accept the UAC prompt
Run the following commands in the Command Prompt window, using the Enter key at the end of each

net stop sppsvc
(wait until the service has stopped before entering the following lines)

CD %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
REN tokens.dat tokens.bar
net start sppsvc
slui.exe

After a couple of seconds the Windows Activation dialog will appear.
You may be asked to re-activate and/or re-enter your product key, or Activation may occur automatically.
If you are asked for your Key, use the one on the COA sticker on the machine's case

Reboot and Post back with a new MGADiag report

That's the way it should be.
Have you never used the Command prompt before?

If you follow the instructions, then everything should work...
if you don't then no-one has any idea what you're doing.

That looks normal - I see that you have/had Norton software installed.
Is it currently installed?
What other security software is also installed?
What other Anti-Virus programs have ever been installed?

I can't help wondering if it's part of the cause - The file dates seem rather old for the current release.
Have you updated/upgraded Norton at all in the past month or so (other than normal definition updates)??
Again - has any other AV EVER been installed on this system? (what did it ship with?)
Please run the following command and post the results - it may take a while to run, so wait until the prompt returns before copying to your reply.
