When I was browsing files a few minutes ago, I saw a new library named "Subversion." For obvious reasons, this worries me. What is this and should I/Can I get rid of it? Windows explorer says it's empty of folders or files.

Hi,

There is some software I use called Subversion that is used to manage files between several hosts and a server - a bit like SourceSafe that programmers use to share common code.

Can you past an image of what this looks like in Windows Explorer? I should be able to tell you if this is the same Subversion I use if you can show me an image of it.

Google results for subversion shown below.

I don't remember installing anything called that. Is there a way I can look up things I've installed recently to see if hey might be connected?

Hi,

Its hard to tell, but the light blue colour and "S" on the library icon looks exactly like the Subversion I use:

tortoisesvn.tigris.org

Have a look under Control Panel > Programs > Pograms and Features to see what is installed there.

Yep. Tortoise SVN is the front end user interface to Subversion. Problem solved.
