Solved need help choosing a good SSD...

i was browsing the web for a SSD and i noticed a lot of them have different prices for the same size, i am looking at either a 120gb or a 240gb ssd.. so with that what should i look for in purchasing a good SSD.. will be my first time buying a SSD... and dont wanna get a bad one... My Budget is $100 bucks...

recommend me a good SSD...

I like Intel and they come in all kinds of price ranges. Here is one I found.

I have 3 of them. I was dumb, I got them before the price dropped.

I like them so much I pickup a couple of Intel 730/240gb

They work great and they have the Intel warranty.

I have only had 1 Intel product that needed a RMA and it was handled with no problems and quickly.

I'd also have to agree with Layback Bear... I have found Intel drives to be far more reliable than any other drive I'm come across. Though when it comes to SSD's there's not really that much that can go wrong as there are no moving parts.

Crucial BX models are reasonable and pretty good I have about 5 or so ranging from 256gb to 128gb although I got the MX series the BX is supposed to be better just a few less gb's
Otherwise Samsung is good too I have 2-500gb's

Most bang for your buck is a EVO you could find a Intel 530 that might be around the same

Monster212 hope you notice that none of us are stating which ssd is the best.

Basically we are informing you what are preferences are.

I also have a Samsung 840 EVO 500 gb that serves me well for backups.

I can remember when ssd first started coming to the market place.
What a price difference compared to now.

Looking at my invoice from then 4/29/2011 at my Intel 120gb SSD cost
$286.00 and it is being used for my C partition on the computer I'm using now as I type. So I chose not because of price because they all cost alot then but reputation of the company and my faith in Intel.

Because of those factors of quality and the the reputation of the company I would still to this day either get a Intel or a Samsung.

When you are going to use a piece of electronics for many years saving $10.00 when you buy it doesn't count for much in my mind.

Can you believe the price of a ssd in 2011. That is more than #2.00 per gb.
