I am trying to connect my VGA computer to my DVI-D TV. Here is what I tried that I thought would work:
VGA male to DVI-A adapter, which then goes into a DVI Female cable, where the other end was DVI-D, which plugged into the tv.
Why did it not work? What can I do differently?

Have you tried . Turning off the PC . Plug the cable from the TV to the PC and then turn on the PC ? See if the PC sees the TV that way ?

Really? Ok, thank you. I thought the Adapter would work. why does it not work the way I have it? Does an adapter not convert the signal?

So what you're saying is, though the TV has the port, It won't let the computer work?

Well darn. I was trying to set it up for my Grandfather. Spent a good $40 on Cables and adapters. Guess I'll return it.
