Need help flashing BIOS

Hey i'm going to flash my bios to a newer version with DOS, but i'm not sure how to make a DOS-bootable DISK, could anyone help me out?

Do you really need to do it from DOS? Dell, for example, uses a utility that launches from Windows. It reboots the PC and does the flash in a non-windows environment.

Why you want to flash bios? Unless you have a very specific problem its really not recommended to mess with.

Hi,

In order to update the BIOS of your computer, you can even follow the below mentioned steps wherein you can download the driver from the manufacturer’s website:
-- Go to the "Driver download" page of your computer manufacturer’s website.
-- Put in the system’s Service Tag and choose the Operating System.
-- Select the BIOS and download the latest Version of BIOS.
-- Flash the BIOS and check if the system is working fine.

During the BIOS update, system will Shut down and Restart and the Bios Flash will be completed.

Because someone else is helping me on my other thread on my BSODs, and he says I should update BIOS..

By the way, how do I get that DISC? i dont want to use a usb..

Why do you not want a bootable DOS USB pendrive? It is very easy to create one using Rufus with FreeDOS.

EDIT: I was thinking RUFUS was a name till I read somwhere that here it stands for

Flashing the bios is the last option..Do it if it is absolutely necessary..why not find the cause for it(BSOD) and then solve it?

the helpers in the BSOD thread should be able to help you. It is always best IMO to flash BIOS from within BIOS, not with a Windows utility.

Using two threads to solve one computers problems is just going to create problems. You will not get more help just confusing help. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.
