need help on fallout3 issues

need help.im running 7ultimate 32. 5770 1g ddr5 i core5 4g ddr 3 system.Every time im installing 1.6 or1.7 patch the game stops and refuses to play again. it dose not happening on 1.4 patch.
Please help.
