Ok here is my problem last week I bought this aforementioned laptop. I blew away the 64bit Windows 7 Home Edition it had on it and installed the 32bit Windows 7 Ultimate.

The problem I am having is that the audio that comes through the speakers sucks with certain things like Windows Media Player when I am watching dvds or downloading movies or Tv shows. When I do this you can barely hear the audio. On the other hand if I plug in my earphones the audio is perfect and I get crystal clear HD quality audio.

The codecs I am currently using are the Windows 7 Shark 007 codecs.

Problem I am running into now is finding suitable drivers. When I go to Toshiba to download drivers:

Model Content Page

all that I get is drivers for a 64bit system when I actually need their 32 bit versions.

With that said can some help me find the appropriate and latest 32 bit audio drivers for this system. Also if anyone has anymore ideas as to what might be wrong here I am all ears and would appreciate your input.

With that said thanks in advance for your help.

First question, why did you install the 32 bit OS, other than to get the Ultimate version? 32 bit apps run fine on 64 bit OS. If Toshiba does not have 32 bit drivers you may be stuck with what you have now.

That's what I wanted and I don't own a 64 bit version.

If you still have the recovery partition, I would suggest restoring your computer back to your original configuration... As toshiba does not have 32bit drivers, you have to decide whether having the Ultimate 32bit version is worth the loss of quality audio...

Got lucky...32 bit drivers do exist as I thought mainly because Toshiba does offer 1 32bit driver for this laptop with that said I was able to locate the drivers I needed through a combo of DriverMax.com and DriverAgent.com purchases. As of right now my laptop is fully updated on every front with current drivers.

Unfortunately the problem still persists though. It is weird as I can get on the Internet and when I watch a video or anything of the type through the plugins the volume works just fine.

It is basically just doing this with Windows Media Player and other apps that aren't based in the browser like the Quicktime player, Divx Player ect....

Any suggestions?
