Need to Restrict upload speed in router

I have a router Linksys WRT54G. Is there a way in Windows 7 or the router to restrict the upload speed for computers connected to my router (wireless)?

You might be able to restrict some things if you have any settings named QOS (quality of service). I just looked in my router, it has some settings for that but it appears to be pretty lame in respect to limiting a user to a preset upload speed.

I also checked my switch. I think a managed switch could do all the things you want, and more. It appears to me that a managed switch would do a better job of Traffic Shaping than a router.

Haven't tried any of that, as of yet. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

My setup page says QOS, but sadly also says for wired network. My brother is uploading stuffs so i need to restrict the speed to 5KB at least. Thanks for the information anyway.

QOS applies to all traffic

The router doesn't care if it's wireless or wired. Figure out what kind of traffic your brother is using, and send him to the "bicycle lane" rather than allowing him to use the "Interstate"

If your router is unable to do these things properly, have a look into "TOMATO" or "DDWRT"
