.NET update problem

I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.
Recently i see that all the updates relating to .NET framework are not getting installed.
Can anyone help me with this problem?

.Net Framework can be an "iffy" proposition for some people.

Have you SP1 installed on your computer?

Please confirm which specific version{s} of .Net Framework you refer to.

Its a security update for .NET 3.5.1 and .NET 4.
Both are not getting installed.

I had the update for .NET 4 refuse to install giving an error. I had to disable my anti-virus program (Microsoft Security Essentials), go into services.msc (as administrator) and then stop/restart the Windows Update service, and then install the update. Restart then the anti-virus.
