Hello

I have had a lot of BSOD's lately apparently involving netio.sys. Happens when I download or surf the internet. Very annoying. Does anyone have a clue what to do to resolve the problem? Dump-file attached. (This is a dump-file from two days ago as the one for today could not be saved due to the fact I had 0 MB free disk space at the time.)

Hi. There's no attachment. You can use the paperclip while editing a post.

So add that. In the meantime, update your networking driver and uninstall any antivirus and/or firewall to test.

I updated my network driver to the newest one from Realtek. Hmm, is it safe to uninstall antivirus (Eset Nod32) and firewall (ZoneAlarm)?

That is Extreme Security I linked you to yep. It's solid and latest version just updated. Install that if you'd like. If not, fine too.

Just make sure you uninstall the one you have now and bsod will stop.

Enjoy.

Sounds a lot like the trouble I had with ZoneAlarm.

torrentg, are you sure they fixed the problem in the latest beta build. In that case I might give it a try with my backup clone.

But MS Security Essentials seem to work fine - it passed all standard tests at grc.com

Hey Thomas. Checkpoint claims there are many stability and reliability fixes in the latest build I linked to. But in your specific case, I can not say if it will run well for you with the company lan. The only way is to install and find out.

If you have 0 mb of free space you will be experiencing issues with Windows.
The errors will all involve the hard drive - but can be in any of the system/driver files because they reside on the hard drive.

You should have 15% free space on each hard drive for Windows to work properly (you can get away with 10% - but Windows will be slower).

I feel it's a video card problem that's causing the blue screen error

I see you have an Nvidia card.

Try this, download the latest driver from Nvidia's site, then get Universal Extractor

On install only check the top box. It will create a Extract on the right-click context menu.

Rather than double-clicking the file, this will extract the contents of the .exe file, No go to Device Manager and under Display adapters, choose update driver software, now go back to Device Manager, click on the Nvidia card and choose update driver software

Huh?

vsdatant.sys caused the crash and it involves netio.sys. That's ZoneAlarm.

Where do you come up with this stuff?

I've never seen you make a good post yet in this section of the forum, to be honest. And for instances like this, why are you trying to undo our good findings?

Code:
Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\vsdatant.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for vsdatant.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for vsdatant.sys
Probably caused by : NETIO.SYS ( NETIO!CalloutStreamDataInit+e )

Yes, I know see it's related to ZoneAlarm.

Has the issue been resolved by uninstalling Zone Alarm?

Netbios.sys is where I thought the fault was.

He never posted back yet, but you can be sure if he uninstalled ZoneAlarm he won't be having this error any longer.

If it was netbios related, that still involves networking and not the video card.
