Marvell Libertas 8335/Sweex LW057 issues
computer specs this applies to:

ASUS A8V-MX
AMD Athlon 64 3200+
1GB DDR400 RAM
80GB Maxtor IDE
HD3650 512mb graphics card

SWEEX LW057/ MARVELL LIBERTAS 8335

I used to run XP on this computer, but Im used to Windows 7 since thats my main computer's OS. So I thought, what the hell. I checked compatibility and it said my wifi card shouldnt have an issue with Windows 7. I installed the OS, booted, and my wifi card was gone from the device manager. So I cant install the driver, since Sweex nor Marvell supplies an installation program. just the inf and sys files, which isnt enough.

I also tried show hidden devices, nothing popped up. legacy driver didnt work either.

the card is indeed working, as I tried in another pc. the pci slots are fine too. its a software related problem.

does anyone have an idea?

Alrighty, well, in this thread, the OP asks the same question

In response, someone suggests downloading this driver

From the lack of response from the OP I am assuming it worked

that wont work. it doesnt take any drivers whatsoever, because its not listed in device manager.

also: theres a LED on the card, in XP its on, even without driver, but in 7, its off.

im not going to bother anymore. im back on XP.

Windows 7 doesnt accept my PCI card so I wont accept Windows 7 on this computer.

and I already tried that kind of driver. those are update drivers. you have to go into the device manager, select the device and then update driver. but I dont have my device listed so nothing works.

in XP MCE it works no problem. I dont know anything about IRQ's though,so I dont know if there was a conflict or anything.

as an addition:

this topic wasnt about getting drivers, it was about getting the device listed so I could then try to get drivers.

I thank you for your time, but this isnt going to work.
