network adapters unable to load

dell inspiron 560 ,motorola surfboard(modem) netgear n900 (wndr4500) router .......everything worked fine until a family member from out of town needed internet access (i was on a job in the middle of the gulf of mexico) long story short. they didn't know the password so they took the cable from the modem or router not sure which one and connected it to a mac laptop to access the internet. now on my dell no internet wireless or cable . lower right says not connected-no connections are available. bla bla bla device manager network adapters=caution triangles on the following DW1525(802.11n)WLAN PCIe Card#2

not sure if i downloaded all drivers all i saw was R290807.exe i ran it took care of the caution triangle for DW1525(802.11n) WLAN PCIe Card #2 in the device manager screen. still have 4 caution triangles thanks for all the help. are there still drivers that i miss? hope so thanks again Maxie

I have a question. How the heck can unplugging this machine from the modem or router cause it to lose all of it's drivers?

In the world I live in this is not possible.

It's very likely that the modem requires a reset before it gets plugged back into the WAN port on the router.

Well it doesn't make any sense to me that some of the self installed Windows mini port drivers are also missing.

Unplugging the system from a modem can't really cause all this and there is no reason for the Windows miniport drivers to show as missing. There is more wrong with this system than just vanishing drivers.

I would think about using system restore to take this system back to how it was before the problem occurred or try resetting the network stack so as to fix any problems that relate to the actual problem because drivers do not just vanish for no apparent reason.

thanks for the help chev65 i had tried restore didn't help.i brought the system new back in 2010 i think well it didn't come with a windows disc. couple years back it said windows was not an original copy. system wouldn't load. brought it back to retailer geek squad said put a fork in it . good guys they are offered me an updated one i declined and took it back home. stay in the closet for a year or so . was using a laptop so didn't really need it until i got hooked on iracing. been a while but i think i got recovery to run not sure if that was it been it loaded a mirror copy maybe. worked fine for a year until this happened. could it be something on iracing that caused it ? will try what maxie said about the other drivers on dell.when i put my tag number on the dell site it only gives me 1 driver for a wireless card . they have a few others but said something about hard drives and os . thanks everyone for all the help

With the missing Windows miniport drivers there are most likely some missing system files as well.

You should first try running the following command in an elevated command prompt.

If the machine fails to pass the scan just reboot the machine and run the scan again, it typically takes a three times running the scan with reboots after each one. This should restore the problem with the drivers and we may still need to reset the network stack after this.

So I'm guessing it did not pass the scan? I kind of figured that would be a problem...

It's possible the board is bad but it's unlikely, in most cases these problems can be fixed.

If there is a problem with the motherboard you can sometimes fix it by shutting down the PC, unplugging the power cord, push the start button so as to bleed all power from the board, plug the power supply back in then check to see if anything changes on the next boot up sequence.

We can try resetting the network stack but if you aren't passing the sfc system file scan then it most likely won't have the desired effect. It appears as if somebody sabotaged this machine from what I'm seeing here.

Just unzip and run the IPReset file, your machine will reboot automatically.
