I am using 2 Windows 7 Professional 64 bit machines and 1 Windows 7 Professional 32 bit machine on a wired Ethernet network.

The network works very well with one issue. When I add a new folder on one machine and try to access that new folder from another machine the new folder does not appear. I must disconnect the network drive from the machine with the new folder then map a new drive. When I map the new drive the new folder displays in Windows Explorer on the second machine.

This is very frustrating when I want to add an email attachment file from another machine and it won't display until I disconnect and re-map the drive.

I hope this all make sense. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this issue? I don't remember this problem when my network was XP Pro machines.

Thanks for your help.

What Antivirus are you using? Have you tried turning it off to see if that's causing the issue?

If you press F5 on the keyboard does the file appear?

I am using ESET NOD32 anti-virus, and no, I have not tried turning OFF the Anti-Virus. Should I turn it OFF on both machines, or the "remote networked" machine or the machine I am typing on the keyboard from trying to see the file on the other networked machine (drive).

When I hit F5 this doesn't help.

I am using Mozzella Thunderbird for my email client. This issue happens most when I am composing a message and then want to attach a file located on the "other networked machine/drive" as an attachment and the file doesn't appear when I browse to the networked machine to attached it to my email. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks - Bill

I would turn it off on both machines to start out.

Reboot each machine after see if your files appear.

If they're still not appearing then disconnect the mapped drive, reboot. Then remap the drive. Then add the mapped drive to a shortcut.

Then add a file and see if it shows up on the other machine. You still might need to hit the F5 to refresh it if the folder is already open.
