All,

Not really happy with W7 security because you can not see computers that are not in your homegroup.

I have several laptops that must connect into 3 seperate LAN groups and each have different Domain/Workgroup names.

How do I do this is W7?

This was easy in XP (our corp standard).

Hello TBotNik, and welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

HomeGroups is only compatible with Windows 7 computers (mostly). However you can use the older Workgroup networking with XP, Vista, and 7. Here is an older thread where going from HomeGroup to Workgroup is discussed:

True indeed about only Windows 7 can access or use Homegroups so what you are seeing is normal for a mixed Op system network.

You can however set up seperate User groups to allow other Op systems with a Workgroup to run along side Homegroups. This also allows for sharing to individual users in a particular User group.
