no wireless on tower - domain blocks?

Hello: w7p 64b tower, ASUS mobo. On install I put it on its own domain name. What will happen if I remove the PC from the domain, and just put it in "workgroup?" -The problem is that this PC will not allow usage of a USB wireless adapter. I have tried 3 different brands & it's all the same story: device mgr "sees" each adapter. For 1 adapter at least, it shows up in "networking & connectivity". But it will not enable. Driver is the latest. All wireless adapters work fine on another PC, a w10p laptop. Since I've tried "everything" else, what will happen to the w7p operability if I do drop our "xxx.xxx.biz" domain? It really doesn't do anything & isn't needed. Please note that the w7p PC does connect to home nw/internet wired cat5e fine. Other suggestions to get wireless working welcomed (yes, I can install a card, but don't wish to). Thank you.

Welcome to the forum. It's not clear what you have done have you connected to a domain controller to login? What errors exactly do you get with wireless and does it connect to the internet via cable? Open a CMD prompt type

Thanks for reply samuria. It is not necessary to do anything on boot to log on to a domain. On w7 setup you designate what if any domain you want to join. I did it. It was a one-time thing. Now I want to exit permanently if poss, the domain, and just have the pc be in "workgroup" to see if some hidden nw security issue in domains blocks connecting a wireless card. I've checked ipconfig /all many times & don't see a fix there...
I addressed in the note that connectivity is fine using Cat5e, which is a type of cable.

My reply to your reply: I don't need to "do" anything. I input the domain on install 6y ago. There is no "domain controller" other than what pc's w7p has built in. I do not need to access it. PC is connected to home domain on default.

My reply: I did not list errors because no errors come up. 1) NW& sharing ctr CP 2) L column: change adapter settings 3) new page: change adapter settings activated. 4) The wireless adapter icon appears on the page. The text for adapter says: disabled. Menu bar shows word "enable." Also r mouse context menu shows enable bolded, when cursor is on the adapter icon. 5) I click on "enable." Computer does something for 1/2 second. "Disabled" disappears for 1/4 second & reappears. "Enabled" never appears.

To open the tool, hit Start, type “rsop.msc,” and then click the resulting entry.

The Resultant Set of Policy tool starts by scanning your system for applied Group Policy settings.
