New computer, net not working

Hello, i recently installed a new computer. This includes a motherboard, rams, and a solid state drive. I installed the Rampage IV Gene and 2 4 GB RAMs, and 100 GB solid state drive. However, I have the issue of the internet not working. I downloaded the lan driver from ASUS and installed it but all it did was make the internet keep disconnecting. The internet would approximately connect for a maximum of 2 seconds then it would cut making it unusable. What is the problem here?

This guide requires me to be connected to the internet to be able to troubleshoot it. I cannot even connect to it so none of the commands work since the cable is not connected.

Can you please provide detail system hardware specs... you say ASUS, but what board model??

Also, what is your ISP? What brand/model modem and router?

Are you trying to connect wired or wireless to your router from the new computer? I'm guessing wired.

Also... Did you install the motherboard chipset drivers from the disc included with the motherboard? These should be installed before any device drivers are installed. The setup on the disc should install them in the correct order. It's important that the chipset files (INF installers) are run first. These tell Windows how to option core devices on the motherboard.

After that, then install updates from the motherboard OEM site. Follow that with added device driver updates such as video cards, etc. Then run Windows update.
