Have you extracted first the Intel Mgmt Interface driver Download and are running it's .exe as Administrator?

Have you tried the downloads from both the Asus mobo Support Downloads webpage and the Intel downloads webpage?

Hey - thanks for your time here.

Have you extracted first the Intel Mgmt Interface driver Download and are running it's .exe as Administrator?

Yes.

Have you tried the downloads from both the Asus mobo Support Downloads webpage and the Intel downloads webpage?

The d/l from the ASUS site did not work. I installed off of the DVD that shipped with the MB.

Just went to the Intel site, to try and find the latest Intel Mgmt Interface driver :

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&keyword=management engine

If I choose desktop boards > Intel 7 series > the next options are Intel boards, and it looks as tho the d/ls below are specifically for those Intel boards. I don't see any option to d/l anything for any other boards.

Try again downloading, extracting to Run as Admin the .exe in Version 9.0.0.1287 of Intel Mgmt Interface drivers from Motherboards - P9X79 LE Drivers and Tools>Chipset.

If it won't install then use the free Tech Support that come with the board to get it resolved.

@riffwraith
The reason people, including myself, recommend not keeping the same "old" OS installed is because it causes driver issues, freezes, corruption at times, etc. You should do a clean install of your OS and update everything. I was once hard headed and had driver issues as well. Plus, nobody likes installing thousands (at least it feels like it) of Windows Updates lol.
