New motherboard help

I have a Asus x99a motherboard and I cannot get the sata to work. It had detected my drives only twice and I have no idea why. It detects my usb stuff but not sata. I don't have a DVD sata to use since mine is broke so I use a usb DVD. I updated the bios to the newest and still nothing. I have 3 drives it detected 2 of them. Yes I tried using different cables and ports.

Doesn't detect it when trying to install Windows or in bios.

Are you saying that it detects only 2 specific drives or any drive but on two specific SATA ports?

Well before I saw this I got one to work I don't know how but the other two non
matter what won't. Even if I plug it in the one the main drive was in

And somehow I got the tb ssd to work I just plugged it into different ports. But the regular drive won't. I used like 5 cores and plugged it into like every slot. But the tb works in like all the slots and different sata cords.

Wtf? Once it registers it officially works all the time? What asinine sense does that make?

Try plugging them into the first 4 sata ports and disable the second sata controller in the BIOS.

Are you up to the latest BIOS revision? The latest is 1203
