New Motherboard???

I am currently running Win 7 Home Premium 64 on an MSI X48C motherboard. The motherboard has been glitchy from the start, I've updated BIOS, played with the BIOS, but after working for a month or so at a time, it freezes on Flash videos, loses USB functionality, won't boot, etc. etc., etc. I am planning to replace the motherboard with an Intel DH55TC running an I5 processor with onboard graphics, and will likely use new memory. I plan to use the same case, HDD, power supply, optical drive. Is ther a way I can use my current copy of Win7 to install the operating system? It was activated on the MSI board for a little over a year, and reloaded on that setup a few times.

Thanks for taking the time to check out.

Hello JoeMax.

If your Windows 7 is full Retail you can move it to the new mobo but if it is OEM then it is forever tied to the first mobo it was installed to.

If you're getting a new system, why not use your current Hard drive on the new system?
You can use your current copy of Windows so long as the license isn't used on the old system. Meaning if you want to install Windows 7 with your previous license, remove it from your old system.

Well with a bit of luck you should just be able to install the new hardware and that is it. Unless of course you want to do a fresh install of windows.

Hello JoeMax.

Depending on the situation even if it is OEM you could still use it changing the MB
