Hi there

It's a pity but the new realtek HD sound driver (2.33) whilst has "preset" equalisations for a lot of options but there's NO custom setting where you can set your own equalisation. (You used to be able to set this in XP)

I'm not a big fan of "Canned" effects -- I prefer to set my own.

This was available in the XP driver --removing this in the latest W7 version seems to be a BIG mistake. I suppose this is all in the modern nature of "dumbing down" everything.

I hope the "custom" feature will be re-instated in a later version.

Cheers
jimbo

It also seems to have a huge dropoff in recording volume using their new drivers vs the Windows 7 Generic one, at least on my system. I think I saw an option somewhere to be able to create your own Equalization preset in the new software (while trying to find a way to fix my mic problem) but I can't seem to locate it right this second. It wasn't as robust as the one you have pictured on the left, but it was better than nothing.

Plus the whole "randomly locks up my computer once in awhile" thing. I'd like them to fix that too. But the generic 7 driver had that problem with my system as well. :(

Alitttle off topic but I miss the same sort of features with my creative audigy 2zs, the generic lets me have sound but I miss the whole application for selecting equlizer, bass boost, the EAX ect. I'm hopeing creative will support this older card with a 7 update.
