Solved New SSD hard drive

It's looking pretty good. It froze up again yesterday morning. I clicked Start, clicked Devices and Printers, and it showed the laptop with a yellow warning flag on it. After researching it, the laptop showed a problem with the Intel Management Engine Interface. I went into Device Manager and deleted it, then rebooted, then had trouble with it, then rebooted, and it finally looks like it's ok (even though it disappeared for awhile and it didn't seem to affect the laptop operation). I've been turning the laptop on and off several times, with long waits between -- and everything seems to be working fine now. I have trouble sleeping, so I've gotten up in the middle of the night and tested it.
I appreciate all your help, IMMENSELY. I tried to give you another Thank You, but it won't let me without spreading the love around. But thank you very much -- it's nice to have the unit acting normally. I'll keep testing it and if everything continues to work properly, tomorrow I'll mark it Solved. Thanks Megahertz07.

To work well, the laptop must have all the drivers installed. In other words, if you open device manager there should be no yellow marks of missing drivers.

For the updates, use Simplix and follow the instructions. Simplix is updated every month so download a new version at least every 3 months

The laptop in most cases looks and acts properly. But I'm having an issue with freezing up after startup (after Log in) after several hours turned off. I turned it on at about 3:30 this morning, and it froze. I booted it, worked fine for about 30 minutes, then I turned it off. I turned it on again at about 7:30, and it froze up again. Each time I boot it, the program then works fine. Unfortunately, one time it froze up, it threw out a lot of my data. It seems to be related to one Open Source software program I use first thing in the morning. It's related to my sleep issues. I use one of those breathing machines which has an SD card with it. I pull the card from the breather and put it into the slot of the laptop, and it freezes shortly after that. I've been able to avoid the problem by opening YouTube and playing a video, any video -- and then opening the software program. Any ideas?? -- and the Open Source providers have a blog site I could ask them if you think that is the direction I should go.

I opened up Device Manager and opened all options and no yellow flags are present.

Edit, add -- there are many people that use that software and I couldn't find anyone else in the blogs having the issue.

Edit add 3 hours after last edit -- the laptop has been on, it froze up again, and the Open Source site was not open, another website was open.

It seems to me to be a software you use.
You can use msconfig to disable all non MS services and all start up programs.
If it works fine, enable half of them. If it still works fine, enable half of the other half and so on.
If it doesn't work fine, you know that the half you just enable has the problematic software. Then you enable only half of that half.

The idea is to narrow the applications till you find the bad guy,

I've been working on it since about one hour after you posted the last comment. 4:00 a.m. -- started laptop and it froze up twice, once on my homescreen, and the other when I was studying the System Configuration window.

I went into msconfig -- and started with "Enable All" in the Startup tab and Services Tab. It froze up, not right away though..
I then went into the Services tab and check marked Hide all Microsoft Services -- and then cleared the check-mark on what remained. And I went into the Startup tab and cleared all check-marks. I rebooted as required and verified the changes took place. I used the laptop all day with no issues. At night I shut it off, turned it on at about 4 in the morning, no issues. I left the laptop on for about 2 hours while I slept, and when I came out, it was frozen up. Sometimes it freezes up right away, other times it freezes after letting it sit idle for a couple of hours or so.
So the only items check marked are on the Microsoft Services -- and they're in "Stopped" or "Running". The Startup tab still has no check marks.
If I go into Services.msc -- Microsoft items are set as "Automatic", "Manual", or "Disabled".
