Solved Newegg Bundle

Does anyone have experience buying bundles from Newegg? I've been doing a ton of shopping for a build I want to do and cant decide.

Im looking at this one, which seems to be a really solid deal considering all you get but Im not sure about the Kaveri. Im also thinking of doing a build with the FX-8350 (or 20) but Im having trouble getting a good enough deal to fit my budget. Will I be leaving a lot of power out there if I don't go ahead and do the 8350 build and get a decent video card (keep in mind I mainly game on console, so I dont need a heavy gaming rig)? Or will the Kaveri (a10-7700) be good enough to handle other tasks other than graphics?

Also wanted to add I don't plan on overclocking.

I've ordered bundles before but never from NewEgg. They can be really good deals but normally they really skimp on the PSU and case.

Your bundle looks nice for a A series chip. I would add a top flight air or sealed water CPU cooler from the get go as these AMD's like Haswell's run hot.

Where did you buy yours from? I usually do Tigerdirect but when I checked newegg, they had better cases and more complete bundles for similar prices.

What is your budget, also know that a key feature with the A series is adding a matched and compatible AMD GPU later or from the get go and run the on chip and onboard together in Crossfire mode.

I honestly don't know much about the A-series but Im ok with upgrading later and its actually what I would prefer. So if there is a high ceiling with the A10 (or more importantly the FM2+), Im willing to go with it, but if its obsolete in a year or two, I'd rather bite the bullet and try to get a decent 8350 build. That will push my budget though

Honestly I think you're doing well with this rig and once you recover from the purchase you can sneak the GPU on later as round two and see your FPS go way up !

Yea Im probably going to sneak in a bluray in when all the parts arrive. Then a little of the sting will have worn off of her and I can go out and get couple more parts that I need to finish. She will probably go for that. If nothing else, I can re-purpose the CD drive and CPU fan then a little bit down the road swap them out for a nice bluray and really good fan.

Thanks for the advice... By the way, when I get to it what GPU would you suggest adding to this system?

Make sure the case has the opening behind the CPU large enough and in the right place to upgrade the coolers retention plate later.....if not then do the cooler now, much easier then removing the mobo later. I'll check on the GPU one minute.

Yeah that does look pretty sweet, decent price too. I went ahead and bought the bundle, the only thing holding me back was the CPU, it doesn't benchmark much better than the older athlon quad cores. Regardless, I've heard there are some new FM2+ chips coming so Ill be able to easily upgrade then.

No worries and take and post some pictures of the rig as you build and after it's done ! I think it will be impressive out of the box and then for round two major leaps. Trash the stock cooler and get a quality aftermarket for sure.

Well, there is good news and bad news.. Most of my stuff showed up! However, my case got held up in Tennessee because of this stupid snow storm hitting Georgia...

Thats about as far as Im going to go until I get my case

I have another case I could use but I'll just be patient and wait it out I guess.

So basically everything is here and accounted for. The SSD doesn't come with a mounting bracket but thats not a big problem, Ill just go pick one up. I was worried about the PSU but just going by looks it should be decent enough to get me going. The CPU fan is awful but I'll have to figure out a way to buy one without the wife complaining too much more

When I get the case I'll update again.
