No Aero?

Hello everyone, i have a little problem. After restarting my pc log on screen background changed to gray ? and aero is gone too :huh: i updated my drivers and everything but still no aero. I can play games, watch movies... weird, right ?

try this, go to ...... ''start / computer / properties (via right click) / advanced system settings / performance''.

under this window make sure all GUI options are enabled..

Of course i did. I tired all aero themes and still no aero... and why is my logon screen gray ? :huh:

How did you install windows? Upgrade? clean? Pre installed?? Has it always done it or just started?

Please give more info, at the moment we don't have a clue!! :huh:

Well... i use windows 7 ultimate 64bit
NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+
6gb ram... what else do you need to know ?

@Anthony i did a clean install, and everything worked perfectly for few weeks until yesterday

right...... so uninstall the NV drivers via the ''device manager'', then reboot into ''safe mode'', reinstall the drivers & reboot...

hopefully Aero will pop back up, what drivers are you running..??

He means, whats your driver version? You can check that in the Nvidia Control Panel

People have said "of course I did" before, then 3 or 4 pages later discovered they actually hadn't.

and i downloaded NVIDIA DRIVERS 196.21 WHQL nvidia driver

ok..... so you say Aero was working previously, you could roll back the machine to an earlier time (if you have sufficient restore points), using the System Restore function.

apart from that im out of ideas, others may have more for you....

Blblr, it seems like a program / update has installed on your system and is starting up with windows, preventing aero from starting, go to 'msconfig' 'startup' tab and turn off what you don't need, Usual suspects are adobe & apple products.

Anyways, i noticed that yesterday was installed windows update (KB971033) :O
And i already have turned off unnecessary products
