Hello, I've just formatted my hard drive. I installed windows 7 with the OS disk I have. I couldn't connect to the internet because I didn't have the driver for a network adapter. So I downloaded PROWin32 onto a usb stick and tried to use it, but now my laptop is telling me that I "Cannot install drivers. No Intel(R) adapters are present in this computer." I saw another thread with the same issue, but it didn't work for me so I'm hoping someone can help me. I added information below about my computer and attached a Dx diag.

Why did you install 32bit with 8GB RAM?

ASUS doesn't have win 7 drivers for that or 32bit, but it's right you don't have Intel Adapters.
I tried the drivers from the link you posted. They didn't work, but it's because I have 32bit. If I go buy 64 bit would it fix my issue?

Thanks for responding!

Hello again, sorry for the late response! It took me a bit to get 64 bit installed. Anyway I got it installed and I'm posting the information you asked for. Thanks again for the help! This has been a real pain.

OK, let's start with this one,

View attachment Chipset_Intel_Win7_8_VER9401016.zip

That is the chipset.

This is your Ethernet controller,

View attachment 387195

This is going to start downloading as soon as you click on it, it's the Intel Management Engine,

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb...01287.zip?_ga=1.67975512.817569922.1458268853

This is the wireless from ASUS, I can't tell if it will work on Win 7 so you'll just have to try it,

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb...2399.zip?_ga=1.126016196.817569922.1458268853

This is your USB 3.0 driver,

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/do...l-8-9-100-Series-and-C220-C610-Chipset-Family

This is the Bluetooth driver,

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb...06955.zip?_ga=1.87358033.817569922.1458268853

Hopefully you have access to Ethernet (Wired Internet), that will make this a lot easier, let's start with those in that order and let me know how it goes.

After installing those upload a new report so I can see what else might be needed.

I installed what I could. Some of the drivers gave me errors. The Chipset gave me a bunch of errors when I installed it and then it worked(?). And the WLAN gave me an error saying that it's the wrong OS. I've attached the system information after I installed everything I could.

Did you restart after installing those? The list is showing the same exact ones as before.

I wasn't sure about the WLAN anyway, most of the others are compatible with Win 7 though.

Can you try a restart and just see if the Ethernet driver installs, that will be a big help.

My laptop restarted after each of the installs, but there were a few errors so I'm assuming that's what the problem was. I tried the dell chip set as well, but it didn't allow me to even start the installation. So I copied and pasted the error messages into a txt file.

OK, I'll see what I can find, did you try the Ethernet driver again?

View attachment 387211

In that folder are win 7 drivers in the Common_Dri folder,

2016-05-26_00h44_29.png

If the installer has been giving you problems, try unzipping that downloaded folder and use this method,

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/97061-driver-install-device-manager.html

To install instead, just point it to the Common_Dri folder.

Hopefully one of the two should give you network access, which will make things easier.

Alright I did as you asked. I believe it worked. I got the confirmation message that said it "successfully updated the drivers" and I restarted my computer. When I got back to the desktop I never got the message that starts part 2 of the guide (Not sure if that is important). I'm leaving another system info txt file attached. Hopefully it appears to be working!

Yeah, that part 2 is not really important in your case, the report looks good except for the wireless which shows as no drivers installed.

Code:
Network Controller	PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_43B1&SUBSYS_21231A3B&REV_03\4&307B39F3&0&00E2	The drivers for this device are not installed.

Did you try that driver I posted in post #12 for your wireless?

There are two bluetooth items there but they say they are working properly, not sure why they are in problem devices unless they need the wireless driver to be fully functional, they're both Broadcom so that may be why,

Code:
Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network)	BTH\MS_BTHPAN\6&28AD4D3D&0&2	This device is working properly.

Bluetooth L2CAP Interface	BTHENUM\{6E0C8F4C-D928-4852-B6B2-F0F0E0D126FA}_LOCALMFG&0000\7&2801B118&0&000000000000_00000000	This device is working properly.

You should be able to get on the internet now with your Ethernet, have you tried that?

You will probably get a couple drivers through windows update, like your graphics driver, being a laptop I would suggest going with that one over one from Nvidia.

Actually looking at a couple other places in the report it says OK next to the network controller can you let me know if your wireless is working as well.

I'm still not able to connect to the internet wirelessly. I haven't tried the driver from #12 yet because I'm not sure where to drop the .dll files (sorry I'm not very good at this sort of thing). Let me know where to place them and I'll give it a go! However, I am able to connect via ethernet so we're definitely making progress! Thanks so much!

OK, that's good news on the Ethernet. Sorry, I should have looked at the driver in post #12 what you can do is use the same method I posted before,

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/97061-driver-install-device-manager.html

Just point it to the unzipped folder you downloaded from post #12.

It should be obvious which one needs the driver in device manager now.

You're welcome, we'll get you there.
