Hey Bumkin, what do you mean by "add your IP provider info"?

In my DSL/Router I have to setup my Internet Provider (AT&T in my case).

So for example, in my older D-Link DI-704 router you would need to set the "WAN Type" whether it gets a static IP address, Dynamic, PPP over Ethernet, or Dial-Up. For "PPPoE" you would/may need to enter your account# (AT&T in my case) and ISP password. If it's not in the DSL modem settings.
On the other hand, my AsusRT-AC66U has an auto ISP locator (but I believe one has to say what type of ISP connection you have (DYnamicIP, PPPoE, PPTP, L2tp, or static).

Ah, well that's the modem side of things, not all modems need such a configuration either, cable modems doesn't for example (at least here in Turkey). Plus, check the ipconfig results of OP, there are no TCP/IP entries. It is "as if" TCP/IP v4 is unchecked in LAN properties. We will see if it will work with Linux soon. Also, DHCP would still lend IP address even if modem wasn't connected to the ISP. Hope this clears some.

It means you hardware is good, Windows is messed up.

Give Windows Repair All-In-One a try. Best way is to do all the steps in order.

Yes, that was the reason to use Linux, to eliminate hardware failure.

I don't remember trying this, sorry if we did:
- Is it working in Safe Mode with networking?

- Load defaults in BIOS (either first screen or exit menu).

Alright! That did it! Huzzah! Man... was a gamut. So weird there wasn't a better solution, but I'm really glad to be back up and running. Thanks a lot for your help. I certainly learned a buttload.

I guess your updates are now reset? Make sure you install all updates and then make an image of System Reserved (if you have) and C partitions with Macrium Reflect free - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/73828-imaging-free-macrium.html
If something odd happens you can fall back to it.

If you keep that first image and make new ones every week/month (depending on how much your OS change) it will be even better.
