No Sound after Installing Windows 7

Hi I have just formatted my computer to re-install windows 7 on my computer. I am now suffering from the same difficulties from when I first upgraded from windows XP....I have no sound! I cant remember how I solved the problem last time.

I have GA-81915P Due Pro with integrated sound card.

(A)
There is a RED X next to Sound symbol (bottom right hand corner).
EXCLAMATION MARK in YELLOW triangle on audio device (in Device Manager).
Right click on audio device and go into Properties reveals:
General tab; Device cannot start (Code10)
Details tab (Hardware Ids); HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_434D&DEV_4980&SUBSYS_00010083&REV_0900
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_434D&DEV_4980&SUBSYS_00010083

I got rid of it by installing the XP C-Media drivers from my motherboard CD manually:
Device Manager --> Sound, Video and Game Controllers --> HD Device (right click) --> Update driver software --> Browse Comp --> Let me Pick --> Have disk --> Browse --> Audio and then find .inf files

Now both RED X and Exclamation mark are gone and I can see the visualisation fluctuations appear when playing something....but No Sound???

[Note: Whilst it installs I can hear a thud coming from the speakers similar to when you start-up or shut-down the computer]

I then installed latest Relteck, C-Media and AC'97 software from there websites, but to no avail. I then thought that they might be conflicting with each other so therefore I installed them all separately but no luck.

(C)
I have right clicked on sound symbol --> Playback devices --> Put Speakers as default device....there is also Digital Output marked as ready.

(D)
I have gone into bios which only shows 2 sound related options:
1) Azalia codec (Auto/Disable)
2) Front Panel Type (AC97/High Definition)

I have changed the front panel type back and forth but no change.

it used to happen to me with vista, i would fix it by going to "device manager" and uninstalling the sound, and then letting windows install it automatically.

Tried that but again the visualisation is working when something is playing, but no actual sound.

OK SOLVED....

(1) Uninstall every sound driver you have, both from 'Control Panel' --> 'Uninstall Programs'.
Then go to Device Manager and right click over the Sound Device --> Uninstall.

A RED X should appear on the Sound symbol (Found bottom left hand corner of screen)

(2) Remove all sound jacks from sockets

(3) Reboot computer

(4) Let windows attempt to install sound driver

(5) Manually install driver from motherboard CD or downloaded file via:
Device Manager --> Sound, Video and Game Controllers --> HD Device (right click) --> Update driver software --> Browse Comp --> Let me Pick --> Have disk --> Browse --> Audio and then find .inf files

If this does not work then:

(6) Find the setup.exe file within the driver file (If on CD, then attempt to copy and paste it on desktop) --> Right click --> Properties --> Compatibility --> Tick box Run this program in compatibility mode for: Choose Windows XP (Service pack 2) in drop down --> Under Privilege Level, tick the box Run this program as an administrator.

(7) Double click setup.exe and install driver.

(8) Then reconnect jacks into computer.

Hopefully this solves it.
