No System Reserved Partition

hi, i bought 2tb seagate hdd few days back ... made 3 partitions (c d e) ... & didnt make a "system reserved" partition ... i thought while installing Win 7 Ultimate it would b done/made automatically ... bt it didnt make it ... is it ok or should i make it ???

I woudn't worry about it Blue as i think Windows sorts this out fine here is a shot of how one one my four machine looks - all the same.

A System Reserved partition will only be created if there are no partitions existing before the installation.

Since you created C: before installing Windows, it did not create System Reserved but put the boot records on C: instead.

John, is your F partition on Disk1 an OS partition? If not then it should not be marked Active, which is only to point to a partition booting Windows. Partition - Mark as Inactive - Windows 7 Forums

If one wants a System Reserved partition then during booted install use the Drive Options to delete all partitions to create your partitions as desired, shown in Steps 7 and 8 of Clean Install Windows 7

Is your C partition the 'active' partition - check that in Disk management. If not, post a picture of Disk Management.

No Greg that is just my back up spinner. I originally thought I was creating that first partition as the one to save stuff (User data) to but it came out like that how I don't know. I was using Partition Wizard at the time so maybe I missed something there.
