On my second Windows 7 machine, I am going thru similar nightmare as the first.
On this machine ( a 10 month old Dell XPS Studio 9100) , after much aggravation and things jsut going wrong, I decided to reintall from scratch, off the Dell Win 7 DVD. It went pretty smooth, to a point.
I am trying to install the Windows updates now. It does some then freezes at 0% progress. After a few hours I hsd no choihce but to reboot, When it eboots, it seems to recover where it left off and asks me to download some more updates.
On this last reboot, it tells me " Do not power or unplug your machine. Installing update 30 of 36". It been over an hour, so clearly I am toast , again.
Man, this is unbelievable.
QUESTION - When I look at Installed Updates, I see many are successful, but a few have failed. How do I resinstall the failed ones??? Does Windows Update offer them to me again the next I run Windows Update??
