ntoskernl.exe BSOD before and after repair install

Hello, I have been having some major issues with windows 7 over the last few months. I have been getting BSODs frequently either while doing anything and while away from the computer. They usually occur about 30-60 minutes after I turn on the computer. I have run check disk, system file scanner, memtest 86+, my hard drive manufacturers integrity test, and even did a repair install in order to fix my problem. The problem was there before and after the repair install (which took a couple of tries to get it to finish without a BSOD). I contacted microsoft support and after 2 reps and close to 2 months of back and forth they said they did everything they know how (see above), and that was all they could do for me. I'm really annoyed because I want to upgrade to Windows 7 but I am forced to run xp because of this. I have attached my Dump files from the bsod. if there is anything else that would be useful let me know and I can find it. Thank you very much for the help.

I have attached the jcgriff2 file that I generated after I updated my bios and chipset drivers. I have not been using my win7 drive due to the issues I have been having, and because I have been too busy with life to deal with it since working with the microsoft reps. So there is still only one dump file that has been generated. I am now letting my system run normally and waiting to see if it BSODs again. If there is anything else in the jcgriff2 file that I should check let me know. I am still having some strange symptoms that have been plaguing my win7 install. mostly these are MSE constantly stopping and needing to be manually restarted. and Firefox constantly crashing, and chrome constantly failing to load pages. These problems tended to show themselves first and then in a matter of hours my system would BSOD. So I do still expect my system to BSOD after updating.

As I expected I had my latest BSOD just occur. I was in the process of running steams "first time running" process on orcs must die. In the past it hasn't mattered what I was doing. Usually it happens when I'm away from the computer. I have attached the dump files. The BSOD just said it was related to NTFS.sys. Also my system randomly hangs for a number of minutes (usually between 5 to 10) no matter what is going on. I really hope someone can tell me more please.

I see you've updated your BIOS, but it doesn't look like that helped. I am leaning towards a bad hard drive, memory or motherboard.

I see that MSE does crash a lot. Have you tried reinstalling it?

I have reinstalled MSE, Firefox, and chrome a number of times and each time it does nothing to change the crashing. It does tend to crash a lot more often when I am installing anything or running MBAM. When all of this started a couple of months ago I did run memtest86+, the seagate harddrive scan, and sfc. They all came back completely fine, but I will run them again. I am a little bit hesitant to say that it is hardware just because I have been booting my system to my Win XP partition without any problems at all. I don't know what differences may be present in the OS's that could cause one to make my hardware fail more than the other. It is older hardware that I am using from about 2008. It will take a day or two for me to get the rest of the tests completed and will report back with the results.

I have finally finished running all of the tests that you told me to run. memtest, the hard drive scan, and sfc all returned no problems or issues. I did have a problem when I ran Prime95. The first test on the list ran just fine for about 3 hours. the second and third test on the list both failed both of the times (ran them each twice). but the failures were only in one worker. the other worker continued to run just fine until I came back and saw that there was a failure. From what I gather from this I am looking at hardware failure of either my ram or my processor. Is this correct? and what are my next steps? Thank you very much.

Well since the memtest passed all its test, it's more likely CPU, motherboard or possibly PSU. And unfortunately, the only way to test these parts is to swap them with a new/different one.


EDIT: But it still could be memory. Since that is the easiest to swap try with that first.

Sadly I currently don't have access to more equipment nor do I have funds for spares at the moment. It is an older system that I have been planning up dating the mobo, proc, and memory in the next year or so. I guess I will just hang in there and hold off till I upgrade my system completely, or it ultimately fails and forces me to do so. Thanks for all the help unless you have any other words of wisdom or advice. I'm just glad I know its hard ware at this point.

We can run driver verifier to rule out bad drivers. I don't think it's necessary but it doesn't hurt to try.
