Solved nVIDIA Driver not working after BSOD

haha backup, i have two HDD's which add to 500GB, no chance, im putting my full trust in you! but i did create a restore point.

I opened up Device manager, and under display adapters i see the nVIDIA!! i open up control panel, nvidia control panel works! i am going to attempt to now download the driver!! ill get back to you asap

Make sure correct drivers and updated. P.s atleast you know how to fix it if it ever happens again .

But be advised you need to make a note if BSOD happens again and what it says if it ever does i have them rarely just windows didnt like something. Maybe you was playing a game and it didnt like it so it shut the graphics card off to protect it

Sorry for the late reply...

I had to reinstall both the Intel and then the NVIDIA drivers (thus two restarts), but i believe your method has worked!!

I initially did what was in my power to attempt to resolve the issue, and then i searched for hours online on forums, etc for a solution, but my problem seemed unique. Ive heard and known of the BIOS, but never mucked around with it, and with your excellent assistance it worked out (at first i didnt really think you were going to be much help (no offensive) with your first comment about installing the right driver for the OS, but i take that back haha).

Thankyou again for help, i believe my issue has been solved, still wonder what caused the BOSD haha, anyways your help has saved me sending it to ASUS which was going to be my next step!

ahaha not to worry look im still young im only 20 ahah.

But yeah if future problems occur i wouldn't worry from one BSOD its a newish laptop so if im right in saying should have warranty still.

And hey believe me we have to ask the basic of questions first. Wouldnt believe the type of people that make silly mistakes

Yeah its just over 2 years old (extended warranty period), but i understand, glad i didnt make that error haha, i woulda been annoyed

hi there.
im glad i found this forum after checking out 200 others..im having more or less the same problem with mine..2 years old asus k52jc.never had a problem with bluescreen or nvidia until i upgraded to 8 gigs of memory.since i did that ive been having random bsod more times a day and after those nvidia is never available in device manager (nvidia control panel does not find any hardware either). few days ago i found a post about it and with the suggested solution (enter bios-f9,restore default settings-f10,save&exit) i get my nvidia back working, but i sill have to do it more times a day...
i was gona follow your guide but my bios does not have that option "boot vga controller selection for" in this advanced tab.it has all the rest though.
