So the other day I was doing some typical computer management. You know, dusting, checking every connection on the hardware side, wiping what the air can couldn't get to. Then I moved onto software. Every month at least once, I like to go into my programs directories ( x64 and x86 ) and see what is going on, and if I can find any junk that ccleaner missed. I have a .txt file that I use when I install a program. In this .txt file I write down the amount of space a given program has taken. And when I go over the programs I compare the original install size, to the current size. Well, somehow I never checked Nvidia folder. It was....get ready.....drumroll....OVER 3 gbs! Now this wouldn't anger me as much if I was using a normal HDD for my main OS drive, but I use a SSD, so you catch my drift. Anyway, the culprit was C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Installer2.
I did not delete it right away, after all I am a cautious person and I wanted to know just why it grew to such a size. Well apparently after each driver upgrade, NVIDIA likes to leave install garbage behind. It is totally safe to delete Installer2 directory. It will not damage your current NVIDIA install. Here is a helpful link I am providing.
Clean Up Old NVIDIA Driver Folders to Free Up Hard Drive Space
I bet there is at least one person here, with a bunch of junk in there that is just wasting space
