For the last couple of years I have gotten blue screens more or less frequently. I can't say I've been doing anything specific when I get them, and the time between them has varied from perhaps half a year to one day now today.

0x00000124 seems hardware related, and I did overclock my CPU to 4,4 GHz when I got it, and at least according to CPU-Z it is still running at that. However, the blue screens appear both when I'm gaming and just casually browsing, also I ran Prime95 yesterday for perhaps 10 minutes with the CPU at full stress and nothing happened. I have tested the memories with Microsoft's built-in tool, but not yet with Memtest.

It blue screened again just now, so it seems to get more and more frequent (thanks Chrome for saving my text), also the temperature of the CPU seems a bit high idling at close to 60 degrees C, but that alone shouldn't be the reason...

I've attached the dump files and all that.

Any ideas? The CPU is running at about 54 degrees now, a little hot for idling... Still, hard to believe it's the temperature if the sensors are correct, but perhaps it's something else with the CPU like too low voltage or just that it's broken since it doesn't seem to matter if it's under load or not.

The issue being with "hal.dll" and "FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: X64_0x124_GenuineIntel_PROCESSOR_CACHE" makes me believe it might be the CPU, but I'm no expert so if anyone with experience reading these dump files could give me some opinions it'd be appriciated.

Hi again! I checked the BIOS and it was indeed still running att 4,4 GHz. I accidentally clicked the OC Tuner so it now automatically changed my OC settings so it runs at about 4,326 GHz with automatic voltage.

The temperature at idle is now a bit lower (due to automatic voltage) at around 46 degrees, but when running Prime 95 in just a few minutes the CPU temp goes above 90 degrees (up to 93 in Speccy and RealTemp), and that worries me a bit. However, I don't think a single one of the maybe 8 blue screens I've had since I bought this have been under a lot of stress.

The MB sits at around 44 degrees and the GPU idles at a little above 60. I haven't had a blue screen again now since I first posted, as I said it's occasional.

I have 4 case fans, a Hyper 212 cooler with 2 fans and a good brand thermal paste, so it's weird that the temperature goes that high. Also cleaned it out not too long ago. Guess I should remount the cooler tomorrow just to be sure... Still, as I've said, it does not seem to have to do with how much stress is on the CPU.

Also, I ran Memtest86+ for half an hour (one whole pass), no errors.

Tazavoo mate the memtest has to run for at the very least 8 passes and it does take a long time to do. Some people even let it run overnight because it takes so long and it does depend a lot on the amount of RAM you have in.

Now if you do get errors depending on way your 8GB is made up from - stick number wise that is if there are errors then you will need to check each stick on its own and even in different slots because the errors may be just coming from one stick and even in a specific slot.
So for example if you have two sticks then you will need to check stick 1 for at least 8 passes and then stick 2 for the 8 passes - on their own.

Sorry mate there is no way around doing it the long way.
