I don't know what a Vertex 2 should be, but here is my Vertex 4, after a firmware update.

Its connected to a SATA III port on the motherboard. Don't know why that shows up.

Wow, I'm jealous.

I thought my SSD was pretty good until I saw your scores.

Guess my next SSD will be A Vertex 4.:D

I don't know what a Vertex 2 should be, but here is my Vertex 4, after a firmware update.

Having both, I can tell you the Vertex 2 is SATA 2 (3Gb/s) whereas the Vertex 4 is SATA 3 (6Gb/s) so there would be a big difference in performance.

BTW the score for my Vertex 4 (as well as Samsung 840 Pro) can be seen here

@Sygnus21, where / when / do you see the difference in performance, except response time ?
Thank you.

To be honest I can't say I saw a big difference in real world performance other than transfer speeds. As I noted the Vertex 4 (theoretical) transfer speed is twice that of the Vertex 2.

Anyway I replaced the Vertex 2 with the Vertex 4 due to age and size as I also moved from a 128 to a 256 gig. And than I ultimately replaced the Vertex 4 with a Samsung 840 Pro as my OS drive and use the Vertex 4 as I backup drive.

And no, I can't say I see any real world difference between the Samsung and Vertex 4 other than benchmarks.... which are quite impressive.

I picked up a pair of OCZ Vector VTR1's, $140 for the pair of refurbs. Just got the OS on them and the first test before any tweaking, looks promising.
