Odd behavior from UAC — permissions
I usually have a third party firewall but I uninstalled it as it's no longer supported. As such, I just now use Windows Firewall.
In doing so, my UAC settings are set to "Don't notify me when I make changes to Windows settings". I'm a user and given full Admin rights (it's my computer, lol). The slider is set one below to "always notify".
The first nuance is the UAC panel keeps on opening up in the top left corner. I want it to appear on my middle of my screen. I am using a 31.5 inch monitor. Even though when I move the panel to the centre of my screen, once I re-open it, it defaults back to the upper left corner.
Secondly, is UAC's behavior. It asks me to approve access for many apps when I try to open them like EVERYTHING search, CCleaner, Mozilla Thunderbird, and more. Fortunately, it doesn't ask me each time when I open Chrome. Whenever possible, I have selected in the "security" tab or "advanced" to "run as administrator" OR right click on the shortcut/actually exe file and "run as administrator" I still get the annoying UAC popup.
Finally, when I want to copy or create a file/folder to C drive, I am prompted with a message that moving requires Admin rights and to allow it (not the usual UAC prompt).
Should I log in as "Administrator" I don't have these issues. I don't know, perhaps my UAC is corrupt and needs rebuilding? Maybe my User Profile is corrupt?
