Can anyone help?

I am using Office 2007 on Windows 7 which until recently worked fine when using Hyperlink in either Word or Excel, but now when I click on a hyperlinked word or cell the following error message appears.
This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.
My user account is set as an Administrator and I have tried switching to Standard user then back to Administrator, but the problem remains. If I log on using another Administrator, Standard or even the Guest account, then Hyperlink works perfectly!

It seems like the only way forward is to delete this Administrator account and use another, but I'm concerned that the problem will be carried over to the other account when I load in the Word and Excel files.

Hi Richard

Yes, Hyperlink works OK in Excel using this Administrator account.

How do I reset permissions?

Several Office programs are listed i.e. Word; Excel; Powerpoint and a load of others including another called Office12. Do all of these programs require permission changes?

Check the properties of each. Make sure that you have the correct permissions. If not it has to be changed.

The permissions for the Office programs are the same on the user accounts that it works on as the account it doesn't, but I changed them anyway to 'full control', but this didn't make any difference either!

Is their anything else you would like me to try or should I re-install Office?

I do not suggest using the hidden adminsitrator, but try opening a new administrative, user account and see if you can get it to work. It can be corruption in your account.
