Hi all, I have been visiting the forums for sometime now and looking up various fixes and what not, but I joined today to see if any one can help me out here.

As the title says, there is no OptionalFeatures.exe in my System32 folder. I recently let a friend of mine install 7 on my laptop (I have been on XP since its launch).

I need to run networking from this machine to the other computers in the house (1 Mac and one on XP) to share files between, but I can't as there is no medium to do so.

Is there any way to obtain a fresh copy of OptionalFeatures.exe without having to do a complete reinstall of the OS? If this is the case I may as well just go back to XP...

Any who, thanks in advance for any assistance :)

I would recommend to do system file check using this SF tutorial, maybe there is something else missing too.

To get the file for Windows 7 32bit Ultimate:

You can download it from here, for example.
Never mind that website is in korean, just look for word "Down" in the middle. That is a download link.
After downloading this file, check it for viruses with something like https://www.virustotal.com/
Virustotal will give you checksum for this file.

For Windows 7 32 bit is should be
SHA256: a1bd84bc980ae7d44ba7570db7a3682b2c69672a8477fcc4956d5ca110406ae3
or
MD5:C8F0D6E8DE5F07F449AB5E82AA902C43
or
SHA1:984BC58E37B7F1BD1058DAA0A8E19B844CB23B34
(All three is the same thing in different algorithms)
