Hello guys,
This is my first time in this forums, so please bare with me.
My brother-in-law's computer is running Windows 7 x64 Home Premium. When the computer is power on it goes pass POST then does not find a bootable device, so these are the steps I've done so far.
Booted to win7 CD and tried the following:
1. startup repair
2. bootrec /fixmbr, /fixboot and /rebuildbcd - when rebuildbcd I get "Total identified Windows installations: 0"
3. bootsect /nt60 c:
4. command prompt and using DISKPART found that the only disk in the system was not active, so I made it active and now when I boot the system I get NTLDR missing
5. bcdedit - I get access denied when accessing C:\
now I'm stuck ... i've read several forums, including this one, but I can't find a solution to this problem
maybe because c:\ is not accessible, windows repair does not see the installation of windows???
please help!
