hello friends, today i tried to install windows 7 ultimate x64 on my pc. I popped the dvd in and booted the computer. The Installation page showed up and i filled in the details and installation started. After sometime, the system restarted after "finalising installation". After the restart, it gave me an out of range error. i don't understand why it gave me such an error. Last time, when a computer technician installed 7 on my system, he set the resolution to 640 x 480 (I dont remember it correctly), when i reached home and connected my pc, it showed out of range again. i booted my system in safe mode and tried to install graphic driver and it worked. But this time, i can't even access the safe mode because the installation stops at user account creation. Please help.

Hello vaibhavkandwal, welcome to Sevenforums.

This happens when Windows is trying to force the monitor to display a resolution your monitor can't handle. Can you boot into "Safe Mode"? If you can try to update your display driver then try to boot back in normally.

Edit: looks like I have to go, but try the above and report back, it will help when someone else comes by and helps you out.

Mhasen1 thanks for the reply, but the installation starts in 1024x768, which is supported by my monitor, but after the restart (during installation) it shows out of range. I think after restarts, it asks for some configuration that involves creation of user account, at that moment, it shows the error

Hey, I got it. First I got into advanced boot options and started the computer in low resolution mode and then it showed no error and I created my account, then booted into desktop. Then restarted my system into safe mode and installed drivers. And it started perfectly fine. Thanks for help mhansen1
